The GS 101 Service Project was designed and orchestrated by the Peer Leaders of each of the Fall 2016 GS 101 Foundation Seminar classes. Under their outstanding leadership, first year women and men experienced first hand what it means to “give back” to those who protect us by showing their support for members of our military serving overseas. Freshmen students assembled donation packs that included candy, personal hygiene items, and notes of thanks to be sent to American troops serving in the military.
Hilbert College took to the community on Friday, September 23 for its inaugural campus-wide Day of Service. Members of Hilbert’s administration, faculty, staff, students, and alumni kicked off True Blue Weekend, by serving and strengthening their communities. The Hilbert community went to five different service site: Buffalo Peace House, Compass House, St. Vincent dePaul Society, Veteran’s One-Stop Center of WNY, and the Village of Hamburg Parks and Recreation Department.
